“；When I was a kid our regular Sunday routine was to go for a family walk in the woods. Winter was the best –； wrapped up in warm coats and gloves –； me and my brother chased the dog through the trees and collected pine cones for kindling. It would be dark by the time we arrived home to the smell of meat roasting in the oven， we would discard our muddy wellies at the door and make straight for the warmth of our ‘；Sunday bath’； which was always accompanied by listening to the top 20 singles run down on the radio. Meanwhile Mum and Dad would be in the final stages of serving roast dinner with gravy and all the trimmings. We would take our seats at the table as the number one single was announced.
Fond memories like these are the things which have taught me how to content myself throughout life and there’；s still nothing I love more than a walk in the woods with my own family， followed by a home cooked Sunday dinner. Although I have to admit I wouldn’t have a clue or a care what is number one in the singles chart these days!vintage cushion covers
That feeling of homely contentedness is what I wanted to try and create with our Keepers Lodge story. The patterns for this collection were designed by Isla Middleton –； a talented young graduate from Falmouth Universitypersonalised birthday gifts， who we discovered at the New Designers graduate show in 2016. Isla specialises in creating beautiful lino cut textile designs inspired by the everyday plants and weeds we often overlook in our British hedgerows. They are depicted with print and embroidery techniques but also translate beautifully onto our lovely Keepers Lodge dinnerware.
The appeal of a warm and cosy is home is nothing new， but we have given a distinct twist to the traditional country palette by combining rust with ochre and rich aubergine. This collection will really come into its own as the season changes and we begin to feel a familiar chill in the air. I ？am looking forward to coming in from then cold and curling up with tea and crumpets in front of the fire， amongst these cushions and throws.”；
